BarCamp / Drupalcamp Shanghai is an event for the Shanghai community!

The term camp derives from unconferences. Like any camp, this BarCamp / drupalcamp Shanghai is defined by the people and is for the people, in particular for the learning and sharing knowledge and ideas with each other among the local tech, web2.0, open source and Drupal community.

On Saturday and Sunday, May 17th and 18th:

Day 1 May 17th Barcamp Shanghai begins from 12:00PM to 18:00PM, followed by a Community Party at Abbey Road at 19:30.

Day 2 May 18th Drupalcamp Shanghai begins from 10:00AM to 18:00PM.

So far 92 registrants are here for our BarCamp / Drupal Camp Shanghai 2008! You are getting some of the greatest open source and Drupal audience around!

So here we encourage all of you to sort your interests and experience, then think about what you can share to or learn from the community in a session of 45 to 90 minutes. We believe that many of you must have strong interests in all facets of web development with Drupal, many of you maybe are experts in Drupal fields!

Session proposals will be voted and sorted into slot rooms on the Drupal Camp day. If you hope all attendees have your session before the Camp day, please don't hesitate to submit the session here. 5 sessions were submitted by now.

In the spirit of transparency and openness, we have a page for the working budget for this two days’ camp.

We are working hard to use these money prudently so that we can bring every one a perfect camp.

This is your chance to share your knowledge, become (better) known in the community, and raise your Drupal karma. Become a presenter at BarCamp Shanghai 2008! And Drupal events have some of the greatest audiences around.

We're looking for speakers on Drupal at every level. If you have anything interested in sharing or learning on Drupal, please don't hesitate to Submit a new Session!. The exact session length hasn't been set, yet, but will be between 45 and 90 minutes. If you have a topic that needs extended coverage, multiple sessions can be set up.

The event is limited to about 150 attendees/participants and costs 50 RMB door fee to secure your slot. For the 50 RMB that will be collected at door, you'll get a t-shirt but the big payoff to this ultra-thrifty event is the knowledge sharing, camaraderie and networking with enthusiasts from many facets of the web dev world including coders, architects, designers and even some business and marketing types.

What is BarCamp ?

BarCamp is an event for local Drupalers!

The term camp derives from unconferences. Like any camp, this BarCamp Shanghai is defined by the people and is for the people, in particular for the learning and sharing knowledge and ideas with the local community.

As an unconference, we do not have a set schedule now until the day of the camp. We are now open for topics from you before the Camp, but those topics and exactly who will present them are not decided until the day of the camp usually occurring during the initial "Welcome to our camps, how is everyone doing session".
